A Nightmare On Elm Street Back In Theatres For Two Days Only!
A Nightmare on Elm Street is not necessarily one of my favourite movies of all time, but it is an undeniable classic, and to have a chance at seeing it in theatres again is an amazing proposition. Cinematical reports that the new remastered cut of Wes Craven’s flick will be hitting select theatres for 2 days in September, as a special promotional event for the upcoming Infinifilm Special Edition DVD release. The movie will be playing on Wed. September 20th and Thurs. September 21st, with the new DVD hitting stores the following Tuesday. You can score tickets over at Fandango… unfortunately it looks like there won’t be any screenings in Canada (Williamsville, NY is the closest to the Toronto area, I believe). This is an awesome trend, and I wish they would find excuses to re-release more classic movies in theatres nowadays. It’s a chance for younger audiences to see some movies from before their time, and for older audiences to experience them again in a modern theatre. But alas, that would probably take money away from the newer, shittier movies that studios are currently pushing. (I’m not bitter.)

elm street was definitely one of those great classic horror flicks that spawned too many sequels. the original was great and the best of the series.
