Trailer for Catacombs Starring Shannyn Sossamon and Pink
We can learn many important lessons from movies, one of which is undoubtedly the fact that raves are scary and dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. You never know where you’re going to wake up afterwards, especially when the rave takes place in the underground catacombs of Paris! In the movie Catacombs, an upcoming horror flick distributed by Lion’s Gate, a young woman wakes up after just such a rave to find herself trapped underground with someone or something chasing her. The movie comes to us from the directorial team of Tomm Coker and David Elliot, Coker being a Marvel/D.C. comic book artist, and Elliot having written the scripts for The Watcher, Four Brothers, and the upcoming live action G.I. Joe movie. (Yes, apparently Paramount is setting up a live action G.I. Joe movie, although this is the first I’ve heard of it.) A trailer for Catacombs has gone online over at YouTube, and to be honest it’s a bit underwhelming. You can hardly see anything in it, and what’s with the Battlestar Galactica music? It didn’t creep me out at all. Did I mention that the movie co-stars Pink? Yeah there are obviously a few strikes against this movie, and Cinematical seems to hint that maybe it will be direct to DVD. I can’t say that would surprise me.

i dont know about this one, i mean the concept sounds alright, but Pink, i dont know, i think i will have to wait for DVD.

There is some much you can do to make this weird and wonderful, but by watching this, it may fall short.

Posted by themarina on August 10th, 2006I’ll tell ya I have been in those catacombs and they are cold and scary I can see where they would get the idea from. I think this movie has potential but the trailer was kind of odd. It was like a short student film.
Posted by Jackson on August 11th, 2006the reason the trailer is ‘underwhelming’ is because it’s not a trailer. some jackass clipped some footage from our d.p.’s website and used i movie to cobble it together with a song from an aranofsky(sp?).
the catacombs are amazing. the parties are amazing. the movie will kick your ass.
