Trailer for The Return Starring Sarah Michelle Gellar
Apparently Sarah Michelle Gellar is not too concerned about being typecast in the supernatural/horror genre, as her latest movie The Return looks a heck of a lot like The Grudge. I was almost too uninterested to even watch the trailer, but it turns out there actually was a little glimmer of something in there that intrigued me. I can’t quite put my finger on it. The story sounds way too much like The Ring, The Grudge and Silent Hill combined. Gellar plays a young sales rep in Texas who experiences visions of the murder of a young woman she’s never met. She is mysteriously compelled to travel to the woman’s hometown, where she must uncover the secret of what really happened. Yawn. Director Asif Kapadia previously did the Hindi-language film The Warrior, and this appears to be his first attempt at horror. What can I say… none of this stuff is really selling the movie for me, but the trailer did look like it might actually be scary. Head over to AOL Moviefone now and see for yourself. gellar is one of those actresses that should just stop. i dont think that there is one movie that i like that she was in. couldnt stand the grudge, and i heard that there is a second one coming out. and this one, i dont know.
Posted by Chopper on August 9th, 2006See, and I really like her. I’d like to see her expand her horizons (I liked her in “Cruel Intentions”) but I’ll give the movie a shot just because I’m biased.
