Tim Allen vs Martin Short in The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause

As many of you are no doubt aware, we’re big supporters of Tim Allen around these parts. He just might be the best all-around actor working in Hollywood today. We were really pulling for him in the race to land the coveted role of The Joker, and although he was just barely edged out by Heath Ledger, it’s all good because Allen has lined up another role as an even more iconic character. That’s right, he’s donning the suit of everyone’s favourite superhero once again in The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. This time around they’re going back to the darker roots of the early stories and bringing in a classic villain that’s sure to please hardcore Christmas fans everywhere: Jack Frost, as played by the comedic genius known as Martin Short. This is guaranteed to be a titanic battle for the ages, I am just a little annoyed that they decided to alter Jack Frost’s outfit and modernize it so much. Hopefully they at least stay true to the original storyline. The trailer for The Santa Clause 3 is now playing over at the movie’s official website. Go ahead and treat yourself to a viewing, then mark November 3rd on your calendar because it will be a glorious day.

  1. the first flick wasnt bad, i cant say that i remember seeing the second one. adding the great canadian martin short to the cast for the third flick could be gold!!!

  2. Tim Allen does rule.

  3. Ugh! I despise UN-FUNNYMAN Tim Allen. The supposed smile is really a sneer. If you look at him long enough his so called good nature just melts away from his face.

  4. Blasphemy.

No, seriously I pretty much agree. That’s what’s so awesome about him. He seems like the ultimate asshole, and yet he gets away with playing stuff like Santa Claus.

    Tim Allen rules.

  5. That I will agree with…he needs to put into a “bad guy” role.

He would have been good in “Falling Down”.

But as a funny guy…no way.

Even when I tried to watch the odd episode of “Home Improvemnent” (i don’t see the hype), I noticed he had this tension about especially when disciplining hte kids….like he was about to go berserk on them.
