Trailer for Stranger Than Fiction Starring Will Ferrell (Now In Quicktime!)
For everyone who is getting sick of seeing Will Ferrell play the same character in every single movie, you have to at least admit that he’s starting to take on some more interesting art house films in addition to his usual goofy comedies. He did that Woody Allen flick Melinda and Melinda, he did the big screen adaptation of The Producers, and now he’s taking on a new movie called Stranger Than Fiction, directed by Marc Forster. Marc Forster previously directed Monster’s Ball (overrated), Finding Neverland (liked it) and Stay (heard it was good). Although Stranger Than Fiction still falls well within the boundaries of being called a comedy, the trailer most reminded of more quirky movies like Adaptation and I Heart Huckabees. The basic idea is that Will Ferrell plays an IRS auditor, who suddenly starts to hear a narrator in his head, commenting on everything that’s about to happen to him in his life. The movie co-stars Dustin Hoffman, Queen Latifah, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Emma Thompson. I, for one, think it looks quite promising. Watch the trailer over at the official website (now available in Quicktime as opposed to that crappy RealVideo format they had up a few days ago).
