Zach Braff One Step Closer to Fletch-dom?
There’s been talk about a new Fletch movie for a long while now, and at one point Kevin Smith was attached to write and direct. Last I heard, Smith would only do the movie if Jason Lee could star as Fletch, but unfortunately the studio wouldn’t buy it. Well now it’s looking like The Weinstein Company is ready to move ahead and revamp this franchise without the involvement of Kevin Smith. They’ve just signed Bill Lawrence, the creator of Spin City and Scrubs, and producer of the animated series Clone High, to write and direct not one but TWO Fletch movies. Now the interesting thing about this is that Zach Braff has long been rumoured to possibly replace Chevy Chase as the new Fletch. With his Scrubs buddy Bill Lawrence on board, I’m guessing those rumours about Braff aren’t going to be rumours much longer! Personally I think Braff would be great for the role, and Lawrence is a smart choice to have in the driver’s seat. Looking forward to hearing more details about this project.

What’s Fletch though?
Posted by Henrik on July 26th, 2006I hate when I hear about projects and just can’t think of them as anything but a waste of time.
Posted by Boooo. on July 26th, 2006i think that Braff will be perfect to continue the role of Fletch. Smith should have done it, but he seems too busy with doing crap like Clerks II.
