Well this can’t be good news. Last week I posted about the upcoming horror movie The Woods, directed by the somewhat unproven talent Lucky McGee, and starring Bruce Campbell. The movie takes place in 1965 at an all-girl boarding school, where students start disappearing because of something weird going on in the woods surrounding it. It was just announced that The Woods is not going to hit theatres at all, and rather will be released direct to DVD in October. Sony can’t have much confidence in this film, especially considering that October would be the ideal time to put it up on screens no matter how bad it is. The DVD comes with both widescreen and fullscreen transfers on one disc, and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, but unfortunately no extras. Look for it in stores on October 3rd.
