Spielberg Talks About Wormhole Movie Interstellar

Recently there’s been a lot of speculation about some of Steven Spielberg’s possible upcoming projects, including Indiana Jones 4 and Jurassic Park 4. While I would be just as excited to see either of these as anyone else, I’m not holding my breath for the moment. However, another movie that I’m equally interested in is a science-fiction project about wormholes, which Spielberg recently revealed will be called Interstellar. It will be based on real-world science, and the script treatment was prepared by Caltech physicist Kip S. Thorne. Spielberg has taken a personal interest in the subject of wormhole theory, inspired by his father whom he calls an “amateur astrophysicist”, and also the Stephen Hawking documentary A Brief History of Time which he produced back in 1991. Spielberg’s done the fantastical sci-fi thing quite a few times throughout his career, but I think it would be really neat to see something a little more brainy from him. IGN Filmforce wonders if Frank Darabont may be involved in this project as well, although IMDB currently lists him as directing a new version of Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 in 2007.
