If you missed your chance to be one of the first 10,000 people who added the Mooby’s Presents: Clerks 2 MySpace profile to their friends list (thus earning a credit in the film), Kevin Smith feels sorry for you and is giving you a second opportunity to be immortalized forever. Starting today, any and all MySpace members who add this profile to their friends list will receive their name in the end credits on the DVD release of the film. It has already amassed over 85,000 friends and continues to grow, but The Weinstein Co. promises that every last name will be included. That is going to be A LOT of names. Some may look at this as another example of Kevin Smith giving back to the fan community that’s supported him over the years. I look at it as a sad, pathetic ploy to coerce people into buying the Clerks 2 DVD out of personal pride. FYI: Clerks 2 is expected to be released on DVD in December, just in time for Christmas. The movie hits theatres next weekend.
