Here’s some news to get the fanboys drooling: everyone’s favourite Chinese martial arts hottie Zhang Ziyi will reportedly have a nude fight scene in her next movie, The Banquet… or at least her character will. Ziyi herself will unfortunately not be the nude body that people see on screen, however. That body belongs to her stand-in, Chinese actress Shao Xiaoshan, who is now demanding that her name appear in the film’s credits. She has launched a publicity campaign to make sure the world knows that it’s actually her body up there on screen. I’m not sure what the policies are for body doubles, but I assume she’s entitled to some sort of recognition for her work. Still, since the movie hasn’t actually been released yet, she may be jumping the gun a bit. The movie is a re-telling of Hamlet, but set in 10th century China with some kung fu action thrown in for good measure.
