Stan Lee’s Reality Show: Who Wants To Be A Superhero?

I am pumped for Stan Lee’s new reality show Who Wants To Be A Superhero? When I first heard about it I didn’t really understand what it was… I thought people were just auditioning for a part in a movie or something. I guess in a way they are, since the winner will get a comic book deal and also star in their own Sci-Fi Channel made-for-TV movie. However, each person comes into the competition portraying their own original superhero, and wearing a self-made costume. The 11 finalists will then participate in a series of contests to see who has the “inner strength and nobility” to achieve immortality. Like many of these kinds of reality shows, I think the best part will be the early auditions of the weirdos who didn’t make the cut. However, I am curious about what kinds of competitions they will be having as well (apparently they won’t be testing super strength and super speed but rather “courage, integrity, self-sacrifice, compassion, and resourcefulness”). YouTube has some funny segments about the auditions from The David Spade Show and E! News, while the show’s official website also has some audition videos posted. Who Wants To Be A Superhero? premieres on The Sci-Fi Channel on July 27th at 9 pm EST.

  1. Great. I missed my opportunity for 15 minutes of fame.

This sounds like it’s going to be fun!

  2. Yeah, I like this idea. Quite imaginative and I predict colourful. I’d watch this.

Maybe Vince Jr. will recruit some of the finalists to wrestle for the WWE. :D
