Snakes On A Plane Novelization In Stores Early?
You’ll have to forgive me if I have been neglecting to keep up with my Snakes On A Plane news lately. You see, I’m desperately trying not to let the hype kill this movie for me… I really want it to be dumb, campy fun with no hopes or expectations placed on it. I worry that this movie has become too self-aware, and will no longer be funny as a result. Still, I can’t help but be fascinated by the cultural phenomenon it has become. Can you believe that they’re releasing not one, not two, but THREE Snakes On A Plane books before the movie even hits theatres? Joblo reports that the SOAP novelization is coming on July 11th, followed by Snakes on a Plane: A Guide to the Internet Ssssssensation on July 28th, and Snakes on a Plane: The Complete Quote Book on August 1st. (Great, I can’t wait to hear fanboys trying to yell out dialogue in the theatre.) Word on the street is that some bookstores have already started selling the novel a week early for some reason (a quick online check confirms that my own local Chapters does in fact have 8 copies in stock). I know movie novelizations generally suck, but this one is written by pulp horror writer Christa Faust, and might be a lot of fun. The question is, do you really want to spoil the movie for yourself just to get inside Samuel L. Jackson’s head??

i am really looking forward to this flick and i think that putting out 3 books before the movie hits is a mistake. let the flick do the talking, this will be a hit.
