It wasn't so much the Raimi factor but the cheese factor. Spider-Man 2 was so over the top and cartoony that I couldn't enjoy it. I really wanted to like it to the point that I was not only disappointed in the film but in myself for not being able to see what everyone else was talking about. I imagine there will only be a glimpse of Venom in part 3 and who knows if Raimi will want to make a 4th part. Raimi has been adamant in the past about his disdain for Venom and the symbiote costume era of Spider-Man in general. I didn't really care for Green Goblin or Doc Ock... although the individual performances were decent, I just didn't buy their reasons for "turning evil" I suppose. This is why I think Spider-Man 3 will be awesome. Venom has the potential to be the best villain of them all (although depending on how they set it up, we may not get to see Venom at all until part 4). But yeah, I'm guessing if the Sam Raimi factor is what you had the biggest problem with in Spider-Man 2, then not much will change in part 3.
