So About That Spider-Man 3 Teaser Trailer…
… the official version is now online over at Apple. Man, I didn’t think I cared much about this movie but after watching the teaser I am seriously pumped. As much as I tried to suppress my fanboy sense from tingling, it was simply too much. Why does May 4th 2007 seem so far away?

Today happens to be Tobey Maguire’s birthday. Who else wanted to see Peter Parker tear off the rest of the black suit and get a peek at his birthday suit? I can’t be the only one.

It is amazing how they are managing to put all the ‘best-of’ of the comic books into these movies. So far everything has been absolutely amazing (excuse the pun) and it does not look like its going to change.

Posted by Nuno on June 27th, 2006In my opinion one of the few weaknesses in the first two Spider-Man movies were the villains. I didn’t really care for Green Goblin or Doc Ock… although the individual performances were decent, I just didn’t buy their reasons for “turning evil” I suppose.
This is why I think Spider-Man 3 will be awesome. Venom has the potential to be the best villain of them all (although depending on how they set it up, we may not get to see Venom at all until part 4).
But yeah, I’m guessing if the Sam Raimi factor is what you had the biggest problem with in Spider-Man 2, then not much will change in part 3.
Posted by Sean on June 27th, 2006I’ve never had a problem with Raimi before. It wasn’t so much the Raimi factor but the cheese factor. Spider-Man 2 was so over the top and cartoony that I couldn’t enjoy it. I really wanted to like it to the point that I was not only disappointed in the film but in myself for not being able to see what everyone else was talking about.
I imagine there will only be a glimpse of Venom in part 3 and who knows if Raimi will want to make a 4th part. Raimi has been adamant in the past about his disdain for Venom and the symbiote costume era of Spider-Man in general. He`swore he would never make a film featuring Venom but I guess he’s going back on that promise.
