Alex Proyas Considering A Dark City Sequel?
A long while back, we posted something about rumours that Alex Proyas was working on a Director’s Cut of his cult classic sci-fi film Dark City. It sounds like the DVD of this new Director’s Cut is nearly ready to release, and Proyas recently hinted that a sequel to Dark City may also be a possibility. In a post on his own website’s forum, Proyas says: “I am more and more interested in the idea of a sequel, and who knows, after the special edition comes out, with everyone’s support behind it, a sequel… maybe who knows… but I’ve already said too much.” Of course, it all seems to depend on how well this new DVD sells. It sure would be nice to see Proyas return to Dark City after movies like Garage Days and I, Robot, but I can’t help but feel like this just a blackmail scheme to get people to buy the new DVD.

Posted by Chopper on June 23rd, 2006This is an interesting story. I really like this movie but have yet to add it to the collection so I think I’ll be waiting for this special edition. As for a sequel, if done even hald as well as the first, it should be fantastic!
