“Treasure Hunters”: NBC Reality Show From Producers of The Da Vinci Code
Stuck for something to watch on TV over the summer months? The producers of The Da Vinci Code, Last Comic Standing and Project Runway have got you covered, with the new reality series Treasure Hunters premiering this weekend on NBC. It may sound like an Amazing Race clone, and in a lot of ways it is. However, the key difference here being that the teams must travel to historically significant locations to solve puzzles and crack codes in their quest for the “ultimate prize”. One of my complaints about The Amazing Race is that over the years the clues have gotten easier in order to provide more immediate action. Treasure Hunters sounds like it will require a bit more thinking. It also involves teams of 3 instead of teams of 2, with participants that include former Miss USA models, former CIA employees, and Air Force officers. Check out a sneak preview over at NBC’s official site now. Treasure Hunters will premiere with a 2 hour special on Sunday June 18th at 8 pm EST. After this it will air Monday nights at 9 pm.

I really don’t need to see another reality show and this one reminded me too much of “The Amazing Race”. I agree that TAR has become too easy and it’s just not as much fun as it used to be. Now, having read a little more about this (including some the of people in the competition), I’m a little more interested.
I’ll probably watch the premiere and see how things go. Thanks for the details!
