Paul Reubens As The Joker?
Whenever it’s a slow news week for movies, you know it’s bound to happen. Someone’s going to throw out another damn casting rumour for the next Batman movie! This week’s rumour may be the strangest one yet… and I love it. The name that has been thrown into the pot of Joker hopefuls is none other than Peewee Herman himself, Mr. Paul “Indecent Exposure” Reubens. The source of the rumour is a bit of a mystery at the moment… it seems that some people saw this on the annoying news ticker that G4TV added to their flagship talk show Attack of the Show. Not exactly a reliable source as far as I’m concerned. For all we know, it’s probably a hoax that G4 decided to run with. But let me just ask for a moment, how crazy is it, really? Reubens can clearly act like a crazed maniac, but he also turned in a serious dramatic performance in Blow. And he was a kickass villain in the Buffy The Vampire Slayer movie. Strangely enough, his IMDB listing even credits him as being Penguin’s Father in Batman Returns (probably a favour from Tim Burton). So what do you think? Paul Reubens for The Joker? Here at Film Junk I think our Joker allegiance still lies with Tim Allen. And to be honest, I think it might be time to start some internet petitions.

I still want Crispin Glover I don’t like Tim Allen. Rubins is a good character actor but I don’t know if he could pull off the Joker.
