Well I would take this next little story with a grain of salt, but there seem to be some rumours cropping up about The Wachowski Brothers’ next project, and it turns out that it just might be a live action movie based on the Japanese anime Speed Racer! This project has reportedly been in the works for a while now, and at one point Vince Vaughn was attached to star in the movie as Racer X. Vaughn had pitched the movie to Warner Brothers back in 2004, and it had since gone silent. A source close to IGN Filmforce revealed this week that The Wachowskis are now interested in writing and directing the film for producer Joel Silver. Now this might just be someone jumping to conclusions based on The Wachowskis and their professed love for anime. Although I could see them coming up with some interesting visuals for a Speed Racer movie, the concept does seem a little too fluffy and shallow for the Brothers to truly be interested in. Last we heard the Wachowski Brothers were also rumoured to be directing a new Conan movie so who knows what they’re really up to. I’m sure we won’t get the official word until they’re good and ready.
