I posted something about this movie a little while ago, and although I thought the concept was kind of stupid, the cast alone was enough to get me interested. The trailer for My Super Ex-Girlfriend has now gone online, and I thought it showed a glimmer of promise, although it didn’t really make me laugh out loud or anything. One thing I didn’t realize is that Luke Wilson (who is so great at playing the weepy boyfriend) was being paired up with Rainn Wilson (The Office) as his best buddy, and I like the chemistry between them. As for Uma Thurman… well I could really care less. In case you didn’t figure it out, the movie is about a guy who breaks up with his girlfriend, only to find out she’s actually a superhero… and she’s pissed. One thing’s for sure… these superhero parody movies just might spell the end for serious superhero movies in general. The movie is being directed by Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters, Kindergarten Cop, Evolution) and hits theatres on July 21st. Check out the trailer now at the official site (linked below).
