Oh yes, that’s right folks… if you thought that reality TV was dead and intelligent entertainment was on the rise again, the boys from Jackass are back to show you how wrong you are. I know there’s a lot of people who hated the first Jackass movie and thought it was a complete insult to cinema in general. Personally, although I’m not a huge fan of the show, I thought the movie used its budget well in creating bigger set pieces and more insane stunts than the TV show could have provided. And there’s a certain giddy and infectious quality to the whole thing… you can’t help but be taken in by it. So I guess what I’m saying with this whole pre-amble is that when Jackass 2 comes out this September, I’ll probably be in line to see it! There’s been a lot of speculation that the reason they are doing a second Jackass movie is because Johnny Knoxville’s acting career has gone down the crapper. And that may be partially true, but I think the bottom line is they probably have so much fun doing these stupid gags that they just couldn’t turn it down. An official website for Jackass 2 has gone online and so far there are a couple short video clips to watch. One is just a teaser for the movie, and the other is part of a joke that seems to involve posting a billboard in L.A. of some friends posing in a rather embarassing position.
