He-Man and She-Ra Movie “The Secret of the Sword” Coming Back To Theatres
After last year’s successful relaunch of the classic 80’s animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe on DVD, BCI Navarre has announced that they will follow it up by releasing the female spin-off cartoon She-Ra: Princess of Power on DVD this summer. The release format will be similar to He-Man, with an initial two-disc Best Of collection, followed by full season sets a few months later. The Best Of set will be released on July 18th, and will also include the 1985 feature film The Secret of the Sword, which first introduced audiences to He-Man’s sister She-Ra. But wait, that’s not all… BCI is also putting The Secret of the Sword back in theatres for a limited time! Throughout May 2006 the movie will screen in 25 major cities across the U.S., primarily during weekend matinee slots targetted at children. (Visit Movies.com to check for local listings.) Man, if this is successful, Paramount should definitely consider re-releasing Transformers: The Movie in theatres before the live-action film launches next July! OMG. OMG. OMG. You guys just made my YEAR! I can only *hope* that the limited release will include a couple of Canadian screens (Vancouver of course)! Either way, I’ll be happy with the DVD’s!
