Trailer for Architecture Documentary “Sketches of Frank Gehry”

Apple put up a trailer last week for an upcoming documentary by Academy Award-winning director Sydney Pollack (The Firm, Sabrina, The Interpreter). The movie is his first feature documentary and it is about a close friend and famous architect Frank O. Gehry. I must admit to knowing nothing about Gehry prior to watching the trailer (and very little about architecture either), but Gehry clearly has a very unique and modernist approach to his building designs, often incorporating strange warped structures, wild curves, and reflective surfaces. Some of his most famous works are the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in L.A. The movie is called Sketches of Frank Gehry, a reference to the starting point for Gehry’s architectural process. Looking for it in select theatres on May 12th; check out the trailer now at the link below.
