Carnivale Season 2 DVD Due in July

Well the bad news is that it looks like the rumours about the return of HBO’s Carnivale were unfounded (series creator Daniel Knauf said he hadn’t heard a thing about it). However, the good news is the show’s second and final season will finally be released on DVD this summer. For many people, the first season was rather slow, but I urge anyone who enjoyed it to check out the second season as the show really picks up and comes into its own. The DVD set will include all 12 episodes on 6-discs, with additional features that include 3 audio commentaries (I assume this means commentary on 3 of the episodes) with Daniel Knauf, executive producer Howard Klein, director Rodrigo Garcia and cast members Clancy Brown and Clea Duvall, “Magic and Myth: The Meaning of Carnivale” half-hour documentary, “Creating the Scene” featurettes, and a Museum of Television and Radio panel discussion with cast and crew. It hits stores on July 18th, 2006, for a suggested price of $99.98 (ouch… these HBO sets are WAY too expensive).
