More Video Game Movies… Far Cry, Onimusha, Devil May Cry?

Oh goody! The trickle of video game movies has officially become a torrential downpour, with at least 3 more rumoured to be in the works this week. Filmstalker reports that the Onimusha movie that had been talked about in the past is now attached to Silent Hill director Christophe Gans. I sure hope the money is good because continuing to do video game movies is almost definitely going to put his career in the crapper. Over at Twitch Film, they recently unearthed details of a Devil May Cry movie being prepped by Shadow Motion Pictures in Atlanta. They are attempting to do a 40 minute short film based on Devil May Cry to screen at DragonCon and to help pitch a full length movie. R.L. Scott will direct and Tee Covington will produce and star. Both are martial artists apparently… that can’t be a good sign. Last but not least, word on the street is that Uwe Boll is back at it again, and this time he has set his sights on the Far Cry movie that he has optioned the rights to. MoviesOnline reports that the movie will start shooting in early 2007, and will star Michael Paré (Bloodrayne). Someone please make the hurting stop!
