New Star Trek Movie Not About Kirk and Spock After All?
Bummer… it sounds like someone may have spoken too soon regarding the new Star Trek movie from J.J. Abrams. While it is true that Abrams will be producing the movie, he made it clear that some of the other details weren’t exactly factual. First of all, he has an option to direct the film, which means the possibility of him ending up behind the camera on this is just that — a possibility. Also, it sounds like the movie, while still planned as a prequel of sorts, may not star Kirk or Spock at all but rather an entirely new cast of characters. The latest rumour that has sprung up also states that Philip Seymour Hoffman may have been cast as the ship’s doctor, and he’s not playing Bones. I’m not sure how I feel about that last part… I think I’d much rather see a bunch of unknowns in a new Star Trek movie than a cast of familiar faces who will just seem out of place in the Star Trek universe. I suppose they’ll probably just give them all ridged foreheads to hide their appearance. Abrams hasn’t given much in the way of concrete information himself, but I guess all news about the project up to this point should be taken with a grain of salt.

so is this going to be the NEW NEW GENERATION or what. i like Hoffman, but i dont want to see him in this, its bad enough that he is in MI:III with crazy cruise.
i think that if anything, i agree that they should get a bunch of unknowns and go from there.
