Ivan Reitman’s Superhero Comedy “Super Ex” Starring Uma Thurman
Given the popularity of comic book movies over the past few years, it only stands to reason that eventually we’d be getting a few superhero spoof/comedy movies as well. (Not that they haven’t been done a million times before.) David Zucker is reportedly working on one called simply Superhero! (how creative can you get?), and I just recently stumbled across an interesting movie being directed by Mr. Ghostbusters himself, Ivan Reitman. It was previously called My Super Ex-Girlfriend and now appears to have been shortened to Super-Ex. The movie stars Uma Thurman as a superhero called G-Girl, who unleashes her super powers on her ex-boyfriend to humiliate him after he dumps her. Sounds kind of lame? Maybe, but with a cast that also includes Luke Wilson, Anna Faris, Eddie Izzard and Rainn Wilson, it just might be stupid enough to work. Super-Ex is currently slated to hit theatres on July 21st, so hopefully we’ll be seeing a trailer fairly soon.

Sure, it’s fun when we see beautiful people get their comeuppance in the sphere of romance, but spare us, please…
