So in other words... the best movies for theatres are "blockbusters" where studios overspent on special effects and action scenes!

"Blockbuster"....hype word that means the studio overspent on a piece of schitt.

I prefer to wait for DVD as well, but my point of the theatrical releases is to make it a more enjoyable experience so people will want to go to the theatre just to experience a movie at its best.

(the best movies for theatres are the star wars, LoTR, Narnian, and war epic stuff and maybe high actio flicks and special effects types)

i love going to the theater, but if i know that the movie will be out on dvd in a week after the theater, i will wait and pay the cheaper price to see it on dvd. unless its a big blockbuster type that you have to see in the theather, like The Benchwarmers!!!

I think if the classic theatre is going to become obsolete in the big picture, then maybe at least improve the remaining ones.

Going to see a movie is only about seeing the movie in about half the viewers. Its about socializing, dating and just a general night out.

I think the theater going experience should cater more to the more mature audience who don't want to be disturbed by young schitts and sticky floors.

Vibrating seats when explosions occur on screen would be cool too!
