WoW…don’t change the name!
SpaceJunk captures all things entertainment. I wouldn’t pigeonhole myself just to talk movies. What if a cool video game comes out? Or a hot band? Or something else we aren’t anticipating?
Its all about variety and flexibility.
By the way, the mics sound great….lotsa depth and clarity….like I’m right there. Great!
Good job, Mike!
Posted by Bassmasta-Baychuk on February 27th, 2006thanks mister bassmasta-baychuk, i really had a great time doing the show and i hope that i can come back once in awhile.
i agree with you that they shouldnt be changing the name and limiting themselves to just movies. they should be open to music and games as well. we will see what they do.
Posted by Chopper aka Mikie on February 27th, 2006Tom, no need to fear change! I like the name Space Junk myself but it’s kind of vague. In order to build an audience you sort of have to pigeonhole yourself, or else people won’t find you on the net.
As I mentioned, the content won’t change much. We’ll shift our focus a little more so that there’s guaranteed to be movie stuff on the site and podcast at all times, but any other interesting topics that come up will still be fair game. (Music might take a bit more of a backseat however.)
Also, the good thing about Film Junk is that the .com domain was available, which means no more .org confusion!
Posted by Sean on February 27th, 2006Alright Sean. I understand. “Space Junk” just sounds good as opposed to “Pop Culture Today” or “Pop Culture 101….Class in Session”.
Posted by Bassmasta-Baychuk on February 27th, 2006Tom, you still game for tomorrow’s show?
Posted by Jay C. on February 27th, 2006Yeah, I should be, but Tuesdays are not gonna be great…Thursday/Friday/Saturdays will be better until my next school schedule change in April.
