Trailer for “Dave Chappelle’s Block Party” Online
I’ve been curious about this movie ever since it screened at the Toronto Film Festival last year. “Dave Chappelle’s Block Party” is part documentary, part concert film, and part stand-up comedy act. Dave Chappelle decided to throw a block party in downtown Brooklyn and invited such hip-hop artists as Kanye West, The Roots, Mos Def, Talib Kweli and The Fugees to perform. The whole event was captured by director Michel Gondry (”Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”). With recently Chappelle skipping out on Comedy Central show, this is probably the next best thing that his fans could hope for. Yahoo! now has a trailer up for the movie at the link below. It will open in select theatres on March 3, 2006.

This is a tough combination to beat. Chapelle, Gondry, and the best of the hip-hop world together in one film. I am looking forward to this.
