Polysics Set North American Release Date For “Now Is The Time”

While Devo seem to have devolved themselves to into little more than a Disney brand name as of late, it is Japan’s Polysics who have picked up the torch of devolution and continued to run with it. Although they are already huge in Japan, their addictive blend of spazzy synth-pop madness finally seems to be catching on in North America as well. Their latest album, appropriately titled “Now Is The Time”, came out in Japan back in October, but will finally find its way into North American stores next month. Tofu Records, who released the Polysics or Die! CD last year, will also be releasing this album on February 21st. It will contain some additional tracks, including a remix by MSTRKRFT. On a related note, Polysics also recently did a remix for the Kaiser Chiefs’ “Na Na Na Na Naa” that appears on a Japan-only EP called “Lap of Honour”. Last but not least there is an intriguing post on the Polysics website indicate that next week’s episode of CSI: NY will feature something to do with the Polysics (Wed. Feb. 1st @ 10 pm). Now go check out their awesome video for the song “Baby Bias“!
