For a few weeks there has been speculation that Nintendo was about to reveal a new version of the Nintendo DS handheld, which of course they denied. But no one was buying any of that. So now, as expected, here it is: the Nintendo DS Lite. It is two-thirds the size of the original, 20% lighter, and has brighter screens… but other than that, it’s the same system. Plus it’s white (or at least the prototype in the picture is — it will supposedly be available in 3 colours that are still TBA). I love how Nintendo assumes everyone always wants a smaller system… I guess it’s a Japanese thing. The DS Lite will be available in Japan on March 2nd, Nintendo has not yet announced a North American release date.
