Futurama To Return With 4 Feature-Length DVD Movies

After the successful relaunch of Family Guy, it seems that Fox has been eyeing the DVD sales of another animated series that they yanked from the air prematurely. Futurama, the slightly more esoteric and geek-tastic sci-fi series from Simpsons creator Matt Groening has long been thought to be ripe for a comeback, and now voice actor Billy West recently confirmed that the return of Futurama is indeed a “done deal”. However, it will not be in the form of a renewed series (at least not yet). According to a post by West on his message board at BillyWest.com, executive producer David X. Cohen informed him that 4 feature-length Futurama direct-to-DVD movies are set to be recorded sometime in July or August of this year. An official statement still has yet to be made by Fox but at this point the future(ama) certainly looks bright!
