Quentin Tarantino To Direct Half-Life Movie?
With all the big name movie industry types getting involved in video game adaptations, there have been more than a few silly rumours floating around out there. Of course, the Peter Jackson/Halo 2 rumour turned out to be true, so sometimes it’s hard to discount the weirder ones. Recently there had been talk that Quentin Tarantino of all people was in negotiations with Valve to bring Half-Life to the big screen. Could it be that Tarantino didn’t want to be shown up by his buddy Roger Avary? Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), Gamespot has disproved this rumour by going straight to Valve’s director of marketing, Doug Lombardi. “As much as we’d love to meet with him, we’ve never been contacted by Mr. Tarantino nor ‘his people’.” Yeah, I didn’t take Tarantino for a gamer anyways. But you’ve gotta wonder, there’s usually a logical explanation for how these rumours start… I wonder if QT has something else up his sleeve. In other real Half-Life news, a release date for the Half-Life 2: Aftermath expansion looks to be set for April 24th.
