There was an interesting TV special on the U.K.’s Channel 4 last week that involved the meeting of two comedic “soulmates” if you will. The idea behind the show is that comedians get to interview their heroes, and wouldn’t you know it but Ricky Gervais, star and co-creator of The Office got to sit down and chat with his idol, Larry David of Seinfeld/Curb Your Enthusiasm fame. Anyone who has seen The Office will understand the similarities it shares with Larry David’s own sense of uncomfortable humour. During the one hour special, entitled “Ricky Gervais Meets… Larry David”, the two discuss their styles of comedy, and apparently really hit it off. The show has started to pop up on torrent sites for anyone in North America who is interested in seeing it. No word on whether or not it might be picked up for broadcast by HBO or anyone else overseas.
