I'm a 46-year-old father of a 7-year-young 2.0 Devo-tee. When I checked out Devo 2.0 from our public library hopeing to catch up on the band that gave me a new perspective on popular music something like a quarter century ago, I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw it was a bunch of kids and I did kind of wonder what was up with all that, but when my daughter started dancing and singing and really getting into Devo after that I felt like I was born again and have nothing but praise for Devo, Devo 2.0, Disney and my public library for making this important document available to our de-evolving society.
(Anyone getting queasy about any un-PC or freudian conotations brought on by the supposed sexual innuendos in any of this entertainment I would most certainly advise not to read any uncensored Christian Bible, particularly those parts about Jacob and his cousins or Noah and his son.)
But don't get too concerned about anything I say. I'm just an old common 'tater.
Whip it Good!

Hello,
I am 43, i liked Devo since I was 16 or 17. They have been very influential for me in many ways. I admit I was somewhat hesitant when I first heard about Dev2.0. A friend lent me the dvd. Before I hit play I told myself to have an open mind. First I watched the interviews with Mark and Jerry. I was ready for action. There was enough there to make it work. I found myself growing excited at the fact that Devo's message was now available to today's youth. I began to see the genius in the accomplishment Devo has made.
Knowing full well that Dev2.0 was a kid’s band I found myself accepting it beyond what I had anticipated. It is very well done actually. So many negative reviews or opinions I’ve read come from people who are comparing 2.0 to Devo. They seem to disregard the fact that the band is for kids. Plus Dev2.0 is very positive, thought provoking and a great influence. They’ve played at schools promoting education. There’s nothing else out there that compares to it.
I’ve read that Jerry spent 4 months doing interviews and auditions, not only to find talented musicians but kids with heads on their shoulders. Of course they would ‘sanitize’ some lyrics for the target audience. Fortunately they did not make it sappy or too cute.
I like the new song “Cyclops” which seems to me to be like a “mongoloid” for kids. Sure I’d like to hear Devo do it, but 2.0 does do a great job.
So anybody out there with a potato stuck up his or her butt, give Dev2.0 a second chance. Put yourself in the shoes of an 8 or 10 year old. Or would you prefer Barney or the New Kids on the Block?
“Now it can be told, everyone shall know the truth about de-evolution!”
Duty Now for the Future!

Part of me is really let down about the sellout of DEVO, who for decades were abused by the very corporate masters they seem to be bowing down to.

The other part says if it helps spread the word and make new fans dig deeper and find out about the real Devo, then so be it.

I wont buy any of the new CD's. It's just to depressing.

Is the blonde boy the long lost son of Barry Manilow??? Oh wait, no. Even Barry can sing! As a whole it was very entertaining. I bet these kids don't REALLY know what they are singing about though. Hmmmmm.

So when are they going to have these kids dress up in large condoms and have naked girls with bananas hovering over them?Thats the DEVO I knew...Hardcore! And will the little girl be a Booji Girl and will she have a funeral theme?
How about them doing a rad cover of "I Need A Chick" or "Golden Energy"!!

I don't get it at all. Why do this in the first place? The song isn't a bad cover, but the singer girl's movements make it embarassing to watch.

Plus - not a whip in sight! An EGG BEATER??!
