Trailer for Mel Gibson’s “Apocalypto” Hits The Net
Mel Gibson has returned to the spotlight once again with the trailer for his latest dead language epic “Apocalypto” (not to be confused with Finnish Metallica cover band Apocalyptica), now online over at Apple’s Quicktime site. I don’t really know much about this movie except that it involves the ancient Mayan civilization and all of the dialogue will be spoken in ancient Mayan (with subtitles, I assume). No big name stars are involved, with all the actors being indigenous Mayan locals. There has been speculation (supported now by some of the themes presented in the trailer) that the movie deals with the end of the world as predicted by the Mayan calendar on December 21, 2012. It’s unknown exactly how much of this movie is based in historical fact and how much will be fiction, but I’m definitely looking forward to hearing more about this unique and mysterious project. Apocalypto is slated to hit theatres in summer 2006.

I got so bored with the endless chase scenes (what a tired,clapped out dramatic device to spin out an otherwise endlessly boring movie!).He just demonstrates what can happen to a person whose father is a devout catholic, fascist, hater.
I got so bored with the endless chase scenes that I turned off the set and returned 15 minutes later to find that the chase scenes were still going..Yes.He is indeed obsessed with violence, blood,gore, incredible suffering,pain,inhumanity to others,etc. etc.etc.He is indeed essentially a very wealthy,possible mad, pornographer, who has the wealth and power to inflict this loathsome shit on others who he basically believes are just as obsessed as he is.WRONG!
Why did I continue to watch this appalling drivel.Well it was sheer curiosity, because I turned it on about 10 minutes in and forced myself to see it through to the end simply to find out who was responsible for this very expensive rubbish.The credits were almost as long as the chase scenes.God help us all and protect us from the ravings of this deeply disturbed man.But as soon as I saw the name Mel Gibson, all was explained.
