This Week on DVD: Nov. 29, 2005

This week you’re lookin at couple of great documentaries in March of the Penguins and Murderball, a bunch of Muppet movie anniversary editions, and some new animated box sets including Family Guy Vol. 3, Mission Hill and the third season of Home Movies. Not to mention an unrated director’s cut of Peter Jackson’s most well-known movie outside of LOTR. I also read somewhere that the new Final Fantasy CG film comes out today but I think that may only be an import… Amazon still has it for January 10th, 2006.

  1. well, today wasnt cheap.

    another couple DVDs I noticed

3 disc sets of the Mummy and Jurassic Park series. some very nice packaging, a price comparable to the Ghostbusters set…

  2. I picked up Kenny Vs. Spenny Season 1, which happens to come with their full length documentary Pitch, which i highly recommend.

  3. I didn’t realize that they were the same guys who did Pitch.

  4. BTW, did that Tom Green box set come out yet? Dec 6th is supposed to be the Canadian release date but both Amazon.ca and Future Shop websites have it in stock.

  5. I just bought it from the HMV in Mississauga. I figured it was the import one that came out already….
Tom Green’s site still has Dec 6 as the CAN release date.

  6. PS – the set is awesome. I didnt get to see a lot of the shows in full because I didnt have Comedy Network at my apartment in college, most of the stuff I saw through the home video ‘best of’ tapes.
The packaging is shit though (still, appropriate to the show I guess?) and there isnt even a booklet with it. but it does have a few commentary tracks, which based on the Freddy Got Fingered one, makes me very happy.

  7. Sweet. I gotta get my hands on this. His Comedy Network stuff was the best. Plus Humplik rules!
