World of Warcraft nerds everywhere let out a collective squirt last night as Alex Trebek mentioned Internet phenomenon Leeroy Jenkins by name as a clue on “Jeopardy”. If you have too much of a life to know who Jenkins is, he was the subject of a highly circulated (and from what I understand, set up) video where he prematurely leads his clan into battle, screaming “LEEEROY JEEEENKIIINS”, leaving everyone else dumbfounded, still calculating percentages like the nerds they are. (See the video here) The clue: “This Role-Playing Game Out in 2004 Returns to the “World” of Azeroth, where heroes like Leeroy Jenkins do battle.” Not too surprisingly, none of the 3 contestants could even wager a guess.
