Video Games Live Tour Cancelled
Well I hate to say “I told you so”, but it looks like the demand for Tommy Tallarico’s “Video Games Live” tour just didn’t materialize like they hoped it would. As a result they have been forced to cancel all of the tour except for the shows in Seattle and Vancouver. Refunds will be offered from points of purchase. I guess most people don’t have quite the same passion for video game music and laser light shows that he does. In a statement, Tallarico blames mediocre ticket sales on that fact that Video Games Live “is a completely new concept that is very difficult to explain to people”. “Think about the first time you heard about Cirque de Soleil. No one really knew what it was… they started very small and built up by word of mouth.” In a way I am a little saddened that there weren’t enough geeks in the world willing to see this thing. Then again, maybe it’s because they weren’t playing the video game music that people really want to hear… like Pac-Man and Pong.

I went to the show in Seattle, and it was actually really entertaining. I’ve never been to something quite like it before.
