Out of all the many, many horror movies coming out in the near future, Eli Roth’s “Hostel” is one of the few I’m looking forward to. Directors like him (and James Gunn with his upcoming movie “Slither“) are putting the fun back in horror by paying tribute to the way things used to be. The trailer for “Hostel” looks very different from his previous movie “Cabin Fever” however. It looks quite grim and serious, and dare I say, a lot like “Saw”. I’m not sure if that’s just a marketing angle or if that’s actually reflects the movie itself. It’s interesting that Quentin Tarantino is putting his name on this flick too… perhaps a way to get people psyched up for the “Grind House” movie that he and Robert Rodriguez are collaborating on?
