Daniel Craig Is Officially The Next James Bond
This is already old news for some people I’m sure, but I’ll regurgitate for the sake of discussion. Sony Pictures Entertainment has announced that their choice for the next James Bond is British actor Daniel Craig. He’s fairly unknown, with some of his highest profile roles coming in the movies “Layer Cake” and “The Jacket”, plus one upcoming in Spielberg’s “Munich”. I can’t say I’ve been following all the rumours, but I know that Clive Owen was one other contender for the 007 gig… I think he would have been decent. Craig seems a little too brutish if you ask me. The whole Bond franchise has grown rather bloated in the last 20 years or so, it will be interesting to see if they can breathe new life into it by redoing Casino Royale. Of course, it would have been cool if they got some new creative talent in there to direct as well… Tarantino was reportedly interested, but instead they’re going with Martin Campbell (Goldeneye). Yawn.

Oh great another Timothy Dalton. This new Bond is just not pretty enough for me.
