The Mars Volta To Release Live Album
Apparently the members of The Mars Volta need a little extra shopping money for Christmas this year, which can be the only explanation for why they have already decided to release a live album so early in their career. Entitled “Scabdates”, it will feature 74 minutes of live recordings taken from shows between 2003 and 2005, including songs from both (yes, that’s right, all two) of their full-length albums. While the band’s tendency to jam will no doubt make for some interesting extended takes, let’s hope the sound quality is better than most of the bootlegs that are floating around online. Personally I would have preferred to get a retail version of their radio-only b-side compilation “A Missing Chromosome” instead. Scabdates hits stores on November 8th, more details and the tracklisting are linked below.
