See that? That is Ashton Kutcher, mocking every Evil Dead fanboy in the world right now. Rumour has it that everyone’s favourite heartthrob is indeed set to star in the upcoming remake of Sam Raimi’s cult classic “The Evil Dead”. No director has been appointed to the project yet, but it is confirmed that original star Bruce Campbell will not be involved. While it is still just a rumour at this point, I can definitely see movie studio execs thinking Kutcher would be perfect for the role. Of course, we all know there’s probably no quicker way to guarantee that the hardcore Evil Dead fans do NOT see this film. Ironically, I found an interview with Bruce Campbell where he was addressing the significant budget the remake would have. He said, and I quote, “They will have all the money they need and the tools to tell the story and entertain the audience in an overall fashion, but it’s not something that we said we need to go out and get Ashton Kutcher to star in to get the audience to come and see it.” Now was that a subtle hint, or does that explain where the rumour originated from? Or is it all just a weird coincidence even??? At this point all I can do is sit back and chuckle to myself as I ponder the possibilities.
