Atom Egoyan’s “Where The Truth Lies” Trailer Online
Acclaimed Canadian filmmaker Atom Egoyan’s latest movie “Where The Truth Lies” makes its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival next week. Based on the book by Rupert Holmes, the movie has been the subject of much controversy due to the fact that a menage a trois between Kevin Bacon, Colin Firth and Rachel Blanchard has landed the movie an NC-17 rating. Apparently there is a little too much “thrusting” involved. THINKFilm are currently appealing the MPAA ruling; they cannot cut the scene as it was filmed using one long money shot… I mean mastershot. Egoyan notes: “I guess I’m naive. I really had no idea it would be a problem… I didn’t even do covering shots, so there’s nothing I can cut away to.” Check out the R-rated trailer for “Where The Truth Lies” over at iFilm now. (Update: He lost the appeal today.)
