Trailer For Ang Lee’s “Brokeback Mountain” Out Now
A couple weeks ago I mentioned that this year’s Oscar contenders were starting to come out of the woodwork. Well how’s this for Oscar bait: the latest opus from Ang Lee (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Sense and Sensibility, Hulk) is quite simply about gay cowboys. “Brokeback Mountain” is based on a short story by Annie Proulx about a ranch hand and a rodeo cowboy in Wyoming who form a relationship, only to have it shattered when one goes off to marry his long-time sweetheart. Sounds like a real tear jerker to be sure, and you know Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal are going to get major cred for doing this flick… not to mention all kinds of adoring female fans.
