Tom Green Comedy Network Box Set Due In October
By now most people probably look at Tom Green as yesterday’s news; a washed up celebrity whose two minutes of fame expired years ago. I still remember the first time I saw his show on the Comedy Network in Canada, it was so fresh and hilarious that you knew it was too good to stay on Canadian cable TV for long. Of course, after he made the inevitable move to MTV, his show didn’t last long, partially because most of his gags relied on anonymity, but also because of all the imitators who began ripping off his ideas. This October, Music Video Distributors will release a great testament to the genius that was Tom Green before he got too big for his own good. “Tom Green: Inside & Outside the Box” is a 3-disc set that includes an entire 26 episode run from The Tom Green Show back when it aired on the Comedy Network in 1997 (and prior to that, on Ottawa public access TV). Extras include audio commentary tracks with Green and over an hour of never-before-seen bonus sketches and studio bits. It hits stores on October 4th.
