Final specs for one of the most anticipated DVDs of the year are out, and to tell you the truth, they’re pretty disappointing. Similar to the Office Space Special Edition that was announced earlier this month, The Big Lebowski Collector’s Edition DVD doesn’t seem very… well endowed, if you know what I mean. It will be available in both widescreen and fullscreen versions, with the following extras: Introduction by Mortimer Young, Jeff Bridges’ Photography, The Making of The Big Lebowski, and Production Notes. Hey studios, listen up! If you’re going to try and make me pay for the same movie twice, you better make it worth my while damnit. As previously announced, “The Big Lebowski: Achiever’s Edition Gift Set” will be the widescreen version with the same specs but comes with a bowling shammy towel, picture coasters that have quotes from the movie, and photo cards (from Jeff Bridges’ personal collection, no less!). All this stuff will be released on October 18th. “The Coen Brothers’ Collection” box set will also be released the same day, which includes Blood Simple, The Big Lebowski, The Man Who Wasn’t There and Intolerable Cruelty.
