It seems like everyone wants a piece of Ricky Gervais nowadays. After the overwhelming success of his BBC series “The Office”, he’s been offered numerous high profile movie and TV roles… only to turn most of them down. However, one thing he has apparently agreed to do is pen an upcoming episode of The Simpsons. Matt Groening specifically asked Gervais to do the episode, in which he will star as his alter ego from The Office, wise-cracking David Brent. The plot of the episode reportedly involves Homer swapping wives with Brent for a reality show. I don’t know about you, but this is one of the few things that could actually get me to watch The Simpsons again. No word on whether or not the episode will air this season or next.
