Teaser Trailer For Doom Movie Now Online
IGN Filmforce has posted the first trailer for the upcoming Doom movie based on id Software’s ever-popular video game series. Judging from the buzz, a lot of people think this could be the first actually good game-to-movie adaptation. I beg to differ. Doom stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Karl Urban, and is directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak (Cradle 2 the Grave, Exit Wounds, Romeo Must Die). Although some of the creature FX in the trailer look promising, I tend to think we’re looking at something on the same level as Alien vs Predator here (if not worse). Excuse me? You beg to differ? On the same level as AVP? If not worse? Hold up. I don’t think we’re talking about the same movie here.
Let’s review the cold hard facts:
1. Director Andrzej Bartkowiak is one solid guy.
2. Cradle 2 the Grave – awesome.
3. Exit Wounds – pretty awesome.
4. Romeo Must Die – awesome.
5. And of course, we know the Rock can deliver.
So based on this, and all parties involved (and their respective track records), I don’t see the problem. And I definitely don’t see the AVP in this movie. How can you even compare Paul W.S. Anderson to to Bartkowiak? Acting as if they’re on the same level…
I think the only issue here is whether or not a lack of DMX is gonna be a problem for Bartkowiak. I mean, he hasn’t made a good movie without him…
