Brian Herzlinger has had a crush on Drew Barrymore ever since he was in 2nd grade. After winning $1,100 on a game show, he decides that it’s time for him to take matters into his own hands and try to win her heart… and make a movie about it in the process. “My Date With Drew” is a documentary about Brian’s attempt to get a date with Drew within 30 days (so that he can still return the video camera to Circuit City for a full refund). Talk about a shoestring budget. Whether or not the movie is actually good remains to be seen… but I guess it goes to show, nowadays anyone can make a movie about anything, which is somewhat inspiring. I guess Brian must have been purposely waiting until Tom Green was out of the picture too… what a sly dog. My Date With Drew hits select theatres on August 5th.
